Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. it is not proud, It is not rude. it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. it keeps no record of wrongs, Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.
LOVE is a happy thing. It makes us laugh. It makes us sing. It makes us sad. It makes us cry. It makes us seek the reason why. It makes us take. It makes us give. Above all else it makes us LIVE
Fletcher - A seriously good way to beat up on your "ism(s)" is to take the first part of the word and toss it. Often we say something along the lines of "I don't fit in here, they talk about skydiving and I don't skydive, I race cars". Wrong approach. Look for the convergent points as opposed to divergency. The 12 step process (if that's what you are looking at) can be applied to the fanatical sweeping of floors (if that happens to be your "ism"of choice). An addict is an addict, is an addict. Addicts become fixated on things - to the detriment of themselves and those around them. So when someone says "alcoholic", you insert "sweepaflooric". If you are interested, there are some 12 step non-secular programs that are geared toward general life improvement. Let me know if you want a link...
When you get what you want in your struggles for self And the world makes you king for a day, Just go to a mirror and look at yourself And see what that man has to say. For it isn't your father or mother or wife Whose judgment upon you must pass, The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life Is the one staring back from the glass. Some people might think you're a straight-shooting chum And call you a wonderful guy. But the man in the glass says you're only a bum If you can't look him straight in the eye. He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest For he's with you clear to the end And you've passed your most dangerous test If the guy in the glass is your friend. You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years And get pats on the back as you pass But your final reward will be heartache and tears If you've cheated the man in the glass.
