Hi My Friendly Friends!!

First I have to thank you all for the place of warmth and understanding and safety you have made (4 me!) here!  What a relief and shelter from the storm!  I am grateful for your healthy participation in my recovery-you have no idea!  *ok down to business*

I just now got around to getting the books my therapist assigned four years ago (!!!) by Harriet Lerner, PhD's; specifically The Dance of Anger.  But I needed all of them-The Dance of Connection,  The Dance of Fear(!!), The Dance of Intimacy, and The Dance of Deception-because I've been known to leave out vital details and embellish details to my own advantage- and that's not okay anymore.  So.... this behavior of mine goes deep. I expect to sit and spin on step four for AWHILE.  I've got 41 years of avoidance to face up to.  Oh Joy.  And I will be sharing my breakthroughs, but right now I'm in the trenches.  I don't appreciate addressing my family rolemodels and unwritten rules book.  This process is stripping me down to the metal-for real!  I get strength from God's scriptures and and neet people like yourself.  Thank you for joining me, I love you all very much,

thePill

That was funny, I get strength from the scriptures also, If it wasn't for God I would still be drinking and using opiates. I am done for the past 5yrs for alcohol. But, I relapsed 2 1/2yrs ago on Opiates. NOt EVER since then, SO I AM HAPPY as can be. I won't go back, It's not worth it, I love my life now so much. I hope to read more later on, I just posted this BLOG about Responsiblity? I think??LOL?DEB!

check out a few of Haleldon's meditation books- 'Each day a new Beginning' is good

for most of us Gals- you can even buy them used from Barnes & noble

(or amazon ) if your on a budget!

these books achieve some positive balance & hope for us-

stripping ourselves 'down to bare metal' , was something I tried to do

quickly so it would be over ( like pulling off a bandaid fast)

but HP had other plans...TIME TAKES TIME... Nia

I made lots of fires in early sobriety- anger became the feul

for some of my best torches-

Commit 20 minutes of concentrated work a day on reading

for your recovery- and may I suggest a journal to go with it.

If you start the habit now, when it comes to step work etc.

you will have the habit in place One day at a time.     Nia

Jill,

Don't dance yourself out, sometimes we can begin something with such fervor, that we end up burning out on it before the fire has even started. Even a good thing should be done, or taken in moderation. Take care, Bob

Jill -

Looks like you got a tad bit of dancing to do. And we have a rather large ballroom for it. Enjoy the music...

YF,

Dennis
