Hi...My name is Sunshine, and I am a grateful recovering alcoholic/addict with all the ism's to go along with it! I am a work in progress. It doesn't get better, I get better. I was desperate and willing to go to any lengths. I had lost everything and was basically living on the street, that's where my disease took me. A lot has changed in these 4 years, and I believe everything happens for a reason. I'm trying to learn how to deal with life's unexpected changes, and learn how to forgive others and forgive myself. I love AA, it is the easier, softer way. Today I try to live by the principles, and keep an open mind. I have so much gratitude for this program, and I take it very seriously, because it saved my life. I never valued life before I got here, took everything for granted. I didn't know how to do life. Today all of that has changed by the grace of God. It's not about me anymore, it's about helping others and trying to live life on life's terms one day at a time. Today I put my sobriety first no matter what. Try to do the next right thing, keep it simple, and it all seems to work out if I let it. I have choices today IF I don't pick up. My primary purpose is to stay sober, and stay in the moment. I still struggle from time to time, but nothing like I used too. It's funny how it works when I work it!!
