Started using as a pre-teen. Spent my sixteenth birthday in treatment following my first triple felony arrest. Loaded before graduation of treatment (fooled them!). continued to use progressively. Skateboarding and punk rock were my only connection with sanity.Than came crack and heroin and the band was left and skateboard was something used to get to the payphone.First NA meeting age 21 while not drinking but staying high. Hit my first of many detoxes at age 22. Methadone did not work for me. Could have been the use of other substances leading to rapid detoxes every time. Watching friends and strangers dying occasionally, added to my need to medicate. Jails=yes, prison=yes which led to alcohol and drug treatment in a state mental hospital. 15 months clean. relapse onto the marijuana maintanence program for 3 years about. The MM quit working. Knew I had to get busy living or get busy dying while trying to read NA material to the narcotic users in my house in between bong hits. (age 32) Back to 12-step programs for like the upteenth attempt, got a sponsor again, read the book again, worked the steps again, and this time found some humility. Now I have 11 years and change and work as an AOD counselor. Oh, and back on the skateboard!

I meant that last comment in reference to your mood=desperate and things not going so well. I'm not super hung up on television or anything like that. LOL.

Hold tight until the next episode, cause there will be one, channels are always changing.
