hang in there......We all have made mistakes. Try not to be so hard on yourself. It took me a long time to come to the point of surrender, and even then it was hard. Remember, we are not bad people we have just made bad choices. and remember.........ONE DAY AT A TIME love, your sister in recovery, sacha
"Those are just things you have done, not who you are." I like that Phillip! I need to remember that one:)
Welcome Simon!! Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let us fall. God doesn't make mistakes. You are a child of God and you are right where He wants you to be. 3 days FREE and counting!!! I'll keep you in my prayers.
Simon, I am glad that you have arrived and in the very least, have a deire to quit using. It is very unfortunate that you could not contact your son on his birthday; however, know that many, many of us have been in the same boat as you - you are not alone. My question to you is: What are you going to do about it? People like you and me have a choice to make. Its really a very simple choice - feel sorry for ourselves, or make it right. Personally, I chose to make things right. You can too! I remember something an oldtimer once told me. "Those are just things you have done, not who you are." It helped me a lot. I suggest you contact your son, tell him you love him, and let him know you care. That seems to be what our children want. Also, I suggest highly that you find a meeting, and a sponsor as soon as possible. We can not do this alone, but we can together. These online recovery places are awesome; however, do not isolate! Get to a meeting, hang with sober people, and get your life back. I'll be praying for you.....Phillip
