What was hammered through my thick skull that the amends I made were for my benefit, not for the benefit of the person I was making amends to. The first two paragraphs of today and tomorrows''s Twenty Four Hours A Day (Mary 28 & 29) are excellent in sharing how our disease makes us uniquely useful and gives meaning to our lives and to the lives of others through us.   In A.A. we learn that since we are alcoholics we can be uniquely useful people. It's been a number of months since I've shared one of the most important pieces of recovery-writing in my life. After site-member-Dennis reminded me of it in his response a few days ago referring maybe this is the most important reason for any of us to be here as we struggle for figuring out what we're doing here.....It scatches that place for me for sure....
