Are You A Good Listener?
Posted On 07/18/2008 07:08:33 by KeithB
Are You A Good Listener? -it is a learned skill   I was a school day yesterday amongst other things. Thursday is a day I continue to take to focus on my own personal development. Our lecture yesterday was on listening, a part of the core skills that are essential to coaching. While going through the lecture, I was reminded, listening is an art, something learned through practice, and something I have a lot of room to improve. The focus has to be beyond what we’re listening to; it h... Read More

Gratitude and Remember When

Gratitude and Remember When   I just had the privilege of playing a 2 day member/guest tournament at the golf course I’m privileged to belong to. We did not win a thing, but played as well as we could for 2 long days, 27 holes the second day. It feels good to know that you went out and did the best you could, competed fairly and honestly, and enjoyed every thing that was around and stayed clean and sober. I am filled with gratitude and do remember when! I remember well when an even... Read More

The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time di... Read More

Are Your Expectations Growing? They Should!   I read something over the course of the weekend that was a good reminder and provoked some thought in me. A numbers of years ago, I was not happy with the life I was living, and addictions were playing too big a role in my daily living. I had frequent moments where there was obvious insanity in my behavior, and things were becoming more and more unmanageable in my life. I was not a happy camper. For what ever the reasons, I made a decisio... Read More

Free Rent In Your Head?

Free Rent In Your Head?   Resentments can kill   As we look at making amends, I was reminded again today about resentments. If I’m ever going to return to my old ways of dealing with the less pleasant side of life, it will likely be due to a resentment that I allow to remain unresolved. If my head is an apartment building, resentments could be like a destructive tenant who dwells there without paying rent. In doing my inventory, I found a few incidents of resents that I had c...
