Angry doesn't begin to describe how I felt
when I had to admit I was an alcoholic.
Even though I was grateful not to be nuts,
as I'd first supposed, I felt cheated.
All the people I saw sitting around the tables of AA
had been granted many more years of drinking than I.
It just wasn't fair!
Someone pointed out to me that life was rarely fair.
I wasn't amused, but extending my drinking career

If you have decided you want what we have
and are willing to go to any length to get it --
then you are ready to take certain steps.
At some of these we balked.
We thought we could find an easier, softer way.
But we could not.
With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you
to be fearless and thorough from the very start.
Some of us have tried to hold On to our old ideas
and the result was nil until we let go absolutely.

People who would nearly crawl in the doors,
sick and broken, and who in a few weeks of meetings
and not drinking one day at a time
would get their health back, find a little job
and friends who really cared,
and then discover a God in their lives.

Hi to all of you and I hope everyone is having a good day.

I thought that I should write a little about myself. I am 51 and a mom to 5 wonderful boys(men) grandma to 7 wonderful grandkids. I am married to a man that I have love since the ninth grade. this might be weird but i really have NO friends, actually i have male friends thats about it and i always have had male friends for the past 7 years now??  lets see its kinda weird i have a counselor and she wanted me to go and get some girlfriends so i did. i made friends with 2 particular girls one is my best friend and then i have another female who is i guess my second best friend.
