I like just about anything and tend to switch genres quite often. I really dont care for opera, load rap or anything with a lot of swearing in it. Right now I am more into Christian music. I foudn the site at www.pandora.com where you can create your own music station of sorts. You put in a stater song and it plays music based off of that and you can either approve or deny the song and it changes what is played as you make your choices. Its in here that I hear alot of good stuff I have never heard before. It might just be my computer but it does tend to make everything else on your computer run slow.

My all time favorite movie is called Always. I just got a copy of my own the other day. It only took me over 10 years...lol I just finished watching t"The Devil Wear Prada" it was good for a chick flick.

I like to read alot of self-help books. I love a good legal thriller or murder mystery. I just finished reading "8 steps to create the life you want " by Dr. Creflo Dollar. I would highly recomend this book to anyone wanting something more out of life. I am still reading my bible, going over my study notes from the retreat and a bible study by Stormie Omartin called Knowing Gods Will For Your Life. As if that were not enough I am also doing a anger workbook my counselor and I thought I should do since I seem to get pissy alot of the time over little stuff.

Container gardening, sewing, playing with my 2 dogs. I have a pure bred rott and a rott/lab mix that are the loves of my life as far as animals goes. Camping, walking in the woods.

i love rottweilers

I am a 36 year old stay at home mom. I have 5 step-kids ranging in age from 11-20 and two kids of my own.. Only one lives with us full-time and he's 16 almost 17 year old. He pretty much has his own life though. My 2 youngest step-daughters are 11 and 14 and are around every now and again. Mu daughters both live out of state and are 19 and 14. I also have a 2 year old grandson and another one on the way. I am mostly looking for friends in recovery. I dont have alot of sober friends and its hard to talk to people if they have not been there themselves.

I currrently run a women's A.A. meeting at the county jail. Someday I am hoping to be able to start a jail ministry through our church but thats a ways down the road.

I am also starting over on the Flylady program. Its an awsome, free program that helps you get your life and head in order. Idid it for a long time and it helped so much but then I quit and now things are slipping again so its time to go back and start over from ther begining and do it right this time. If you would like to chekc it out the address is www.flylady.com

Books, computers, coffee with friends, working out at the YMCA, swimming, cooking and baking, traveling. Charing A.A. meetings. I also love to camp and hubby and I have just finished fixing up an old camp trailer we bought for 50.00. Unfortunatly its turned out to be a piece of junk and should be a wood hauling trailer by this time next year. lol At least for this year we will not have to sleep on the ground. It did'nt turn out to bad once we got everythig done inside. Its still falling apart adn its to the point you woul d have to tear it down to the frame and start over again. So, we are going to use it this summer and plan on getting a better one this winter when they are cheaper to buy.

I really dont have a lot of dislikes. Mostly people who can not be honest or people that treat you one way when you around then stab you in the back as soon as you turn around. I also dont much care for people that can not or will not understand that we are ALL sick people in need of help. As our pastor said on Sunday. "I'm no better than you, your know better than me, we're just better than we used to be" and I think that sums it up in a nutshell.

Love your page! I love the "total ass of myself" comment;) Right on! Also love Rotties, never owned one but Lord willing I will someday. Right now I have one doggie, and I live in an apartment, so I don't believe it fair to own a bunch of animals. Hopefully God has a Rottie in my future though, with my dream of a small house with a huuuuuuuuge yard:)

God Bless

Hi Pooh, Thanks for all of the great things you've shared, I 'm just starting out in recovery and I can't even imagine right now being able to say " 1 month"  with no gambling or drinking, let alone 4yrs!!!!! Must feel as though you died and went to Heaven!!.......I'm 57, i'll be 58 this month and I never gambled until I was around 50, I have never struggled with any addiction before, I know things are out of control and I've alianated most of my family because I get angry when I drink and I've said terrible things, I just kept thinking I could quit on my own. This is my first time reaching out so I really appreciate everyone in here. I feel kind of phoney excepting your kindness when you really don't know how  hurtfull I've really been, like my daughter say's, " they wouldn't like you either if you said to them what you've said to us", I'm praying for forgivness. So Pooh, there you have it, some really bad stuff was happening around 1998 and I fell and I've been falling ever since...use to be a nice person, I would really like to be again......I hope I didn't unload too much or bring you down, I just want to be honest.......I'm just starting out and I have to say this is the hardest thing I've ever done, especially knowing how most of my family feel about me. Thanks for listening Pooh, It really helps, even though it hurts, to admit where life really is right now for me. I hope your having a great day, despite my depressing woes lol, Hope to talk toyou soon and Ill check out the flylady program.......Nancy

may we take time out this morning to have a moment of silence and prayer for those who courageously gave their lives so that we may be able to live ours today. for those who came home and dealt with the aftermath of war. for those who are still abroad and are unable to be with their loved ones on this day. and let us not forget those who lost their lives in their own personal battle with addiction. as we enjoy our holiday today let us keep in mind that some gave all for us to be able to have that previlege. may we keep their families and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

eternally grateful
billy
