I've managed to pull off a good charade, but it's started to come crumbling down around me. I told myself for so many years "I am not an addict, I can control my use of drugs and alcohol. Those poor, unfortunate addicts, thank God I will never be like that". Well, I'm not a junkie living on the street, but it's time to admit drugs and alcohol control me, not the other way around. And I have to get honest with myself, in order to take back my life. This is my first step.

Wish I had some cool graphics and powerful words of wisdom. I'll have to work on that. I'm needing to get serious about recovery. I talk about it much more than I "work" it. I think I'll get more involved with this site and see if it doesn't help me to focus and remind me that I am, indeed, an addict and that the monster IS trying to kill me. That's my deal in a nutshell. YIKES!!!
