About Yourself

i was raised in a Christian home... but there was a lot of emotional trauma.. and some physical abuse... even some sexual.

My Dad died when i was 10. I am the only girl, and "Daddy's Girl", I worshipped my Dad.. when he died, i thought my world would come apart. For the rest of my life, it seems, i looked...for Dad...

as i said in a poem

I learned to matter... i learned that i could make men happy... and that i would matter... i also learned Shame... I MADE MEN BAD... I made them DO things or feel things, therefore i must meet there needs... http://media.photobucket.com/image/will%20you%20love%20me%

My struggle with the pain of addictive personality type (Borderline Personality Disorder with Chronic Depression) is on-going. My faith in my Higher Power... God the Father... Jesus, and Spirit... wavers at times... but is my Health.

Philipians 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Your Higher Power, is just that, yours, not mine or his, or hers, it is yours.
There was a guy at rehab with who used the Pacific Ocean as his HP because
it was a power greater then he was, someone else used the British heavy
metal band Judas Priest as his, you can use whatever works for you. It could be your
home group, the sun , etc. Only you can know what you see as a power greater
than yourself that will help you and restore some sanity to your life.

We have often looked to other people, places and things
for our answers and for our happiness...
We thought others could free us from pain, fear or guilt...
This has never brought any happiness
and in the long run we have not changed....

It is time to begin to trust that small voice within,
coming from the person we really are...
It is time to look within and begin to uncover
all that has been blocking us from our truth, from our Higher Power...
It is time to discover ourselves....

A lady recently joined AA and was asked by a coworker
"What it was like to be a Sober Alcoholic?"

She replied, "It's like being a pumpkin.
HP picks you from the patch, washes all of the dirt off
that you may have gotten from the other pumpkins.

Then He cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.

Then He carves you a new smiling face and
puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

Joy isn't the absence of pain -- it's the presence of God.

My Child…
