exercise and working around the house when I have a few bucks.

I'm a family man who enjoys quiet time at te hot springs from time to time. Recently, I've been trying to discover more about myself so I can contribute significantly to society. My first step, since my last of 4 kids left home, was to return to school, I'm working on a master degree in social work. Next and probably more importantly, I quit drinking, I'm 52 and have been drinking for forty years.

Spending time with family and friends.

I'm glad you are doing better. YES, there will be highs and lows, but DON'T STOP before the miracles happen. You will get through this. Hold your head high and reach for the stars.
I'm here to support you anyway I can.
Hugs, Tina

Joseph,I wrote another comment to you but it ended up on Tinas page. here it is again. There is a site called christians in recovery. they have awesome meetings and a chat room with alot of sobriety there, these people have helped me so much. my computer was down a couple of days and i felt lost without the support i get from my new friends, there are also alot of people there who struggle with depression and other things. sometimes helping others gets us out of ourselves, please check it out, I think you will like it. Nice to hear from you and Nice to hear that you remained STRONG. Your HP is with you. A drink will not solve anything and remember, YOU OWE nothing to no one but yourself.

Some days are good, others you say, "Oh what the heck?" then you are at square one after your butt hits rock bottom again. Why do it again I say?

Head up, chin up and reach for those stars. There's a better life ahead of you.

If you need anything, I'm here. Hugs, Tina

Hi Joseph, I have been through this program before so i know what you are feeling. They call it "the pink cloud" after you get sober everything is so wonderful, you feel great, good things start happening, ect. But, like one of my friends said " the desert is coming" We are not use to life on lifes terms, we were drinking through all lifes problems, we have to learn how to live sober. Most alcoholics are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but there is no way to correctly diagnose us until we have a year sober, we have so many up and down emotions. That wonderful feeling will coome again, "This to shall Pass" call a friend in the program, begin each day and ask God to help you, keep going to meetings and dont drink until your ass falls off, those bad feelings seem to come suddenly out of nowhere. a week ago , I wanted to drink, I was so mad. I didnt want to be an alcoholic anymore but, I am what I am.You are not alone. there are millions out there feeling just like you, me included. if nobody told you they care today, I do. this i can say from the bottom of my heart I am going to pray for you every morning when I am doing my morning program, please keep in touch. Pam
