I've been ill for most of my life and have never had anybody who could understand where I was coming from. It has led to other coping strategies. Would somebody be able to chat abut it?

The illness is a way to calm oneself and to avoid other issues. I too have struggled with the disease for most of my life as well as alcoholism. Understanding the underlying casues of overeating and trying to address them can help. As can keeping a journal of your thuoght and your food intake

I dealt with anorexia and bullimia for a long time. I do still deal with my body, but thanks to a lot of strength, a lot of will, a lot of me wanting A Lot of peace, I have found some ways to pacify my pains and thoughts about my body. I am willing to talk about some of these things and ways with you anytime...I recomend the book. "the anatomy of the spirit".
But on a deeper level it begins with you....
I love and want to hear that I am beautiful and pretty and strong and everything else I think I deserve to hear....So what do I do to get that?
Every day I look into the mirror and I tell my self with meaning
"Christina, you are BEAUTIFUL, your are POWERFUL, you ARE STRONG, AND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT".
I tell myself multiple times some days, it all starts from within, some days I do not feel like that but I still tell myself, over and over, because I need to hear it.
Habits become routines and after quite some time you begin to believe it , because that is what you want. But you have to want it and hear it and believe it from you. so just keep telling yourself and keep believing and continue trying to reach out. get back to me =]
I pray for you.

in response to wanting to chat, what exactly is it that could make you feel better?  i am open to pretty much any conversation and am in the same position, constantly feeling as if i am misunderstood by everyone around me.
