These are a few instructions about using the VOICE CHAT. At the time of this writing, I am still becoming acquainted with all of the features, so this may be updated from time to time with new findings.Â
REGISTRATION
The VOICE CHAT is a new feature that is accessible from the very top menu items in the header area. It is next to the LIVE CHAT option. This opens up a page on the myRECOVERYspace (mRs) site that has an embedded chat room. The first thing that you will see will be a dialog box that says "LOGIN FORM" at the top. Unfortunately, we have the cheaper version, so we do not have integration of your mRs login with the VOICE CHAT room. So you will need to go ahead and register again for this VOICE CHAT room in order to be a member. You can optionally log in as a guest, but the guests do not have the same options as members. It is recommended that you use the same login name for the VOICE CHAT as you do for mRs so that people can identify you appropriately.Â
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SHARING
Once you are logged in, then you will have a text chat room like most other chat rooms that you have probably seen. At the bottom you can type in text that everyone else can see. Note that anything that you put in these public chat room areas can be seen by anyone unless it is erased by the admin, so please only type things that you want to be public. For most meetings, you probably want to set up your own meeting room. You can create these meeting rooms on the fly and when you are finished with them, they disappear, along with the contents of them. To create your own meeting room, click the + icon on the lower left that says "Create Room". If you want to not have just anyone stopping by, then you can make it a private room with a password. Then the only people who can "crash" your meeting are those that know the password.Â
USING VOICE
Certainly one of the most powerful features of these rooms are the ability to use voice. For this you apparently need a webcam connected to your computer. A regular headphone with a mic (such as would be used with Skype) is not enough. Â
