I have been going to an outpatient rehab program for 24 days. They put me on suboxone and it was only susposed to be for 14 days. Like I said I'm now on day 24 and still going through withdraws everytime they drop my dose a little lower. Then they raise it back up. It feels like a never ending process. Has anyone else every went through this? How do I handle it?

You might want to check out the patient stories at http://www.suboxone.com/ if you haven't already done so.

"The withdrawal from Buprenorphine is quite similar to that of other opioids, but like methadone, it has a long half life, causing a longer, but milder withdrawal." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suboxone  i have the feeling that they're going for the longer but milder thing, which is going to require a boatload of patience on your part.

Blogs are more widely read on this site than are the forums, so you might want to post your question in a blog ... just a suggestion.

i have not had any experience taking this drug, but i have sponsored a couple of guys who did, so i've got to say be careful, 'cuz neither one of those guys is clean now, and i won't blow smoke up your ass, one of them his wife and i burried, so i really mean be careful.

Trust the process, trust the folks you're working with, and eventually you will get through this ordeal.
i don't know how you feel about recovery, but the bigger the real-world support network you get into place now, the better chance you'll have of getting through this and eventually getting and staying clean.

Take care and feel free to write anytime.
e-hug, Kev
