Hello I am new here  and I have a question which may sound really stupid.
I have a problem with over eating substituted it for some time with alcohol and cigarettes but have returned to overeating and it is carbs and sugar that are my trigger foods.
There is a very low calorie diet that I would like to use (lost 2 stone at beinnning of year while on it and have put 1 stone back on again)  This diet demands that you try and deal with issues that you have with food and work out a future food plan while on it so that when you have lost all the weight, you try and look at food as a fuel.  I wasn't aware of the OA programme then and I really wished I had used it while loosing weight as I am sure that would have helped keeping it off.
IF I went back on the vlcd would I be copping out and not following the steps correctly or reverting to old patterns.  I am so scared of food that the elimination of food seems the ideal answer.
any suggestions or comments will be helpful
Thank you from a newcome

Hi Mags -
Welcome to a good place. I noticed that you mentioned OA in your post. The OA program can be used in conjunction with any diet. A 12 step spiritual program deals with the psycological and emotional causes behind any addictive lifestyle. Plus you aren't doing it alone. You may want to see if there is an OA group in your area. Try: http://www.oa.org/all_about_meetings.htm

Take care,
Dennis

I'm not exactly sure what to say, just be careful. Any VLCD can be dangerous, lowers your metabolism, and just sets you up for overeating later.

I have a lot of food related issues... and the only thing that's helping me is reminding myself that true beauty is on the INSIDE.

Good luck to you.
