just like meetings, Bear Fans in Recovery

I was born and raised in Hawaii.
Grew up with the beach in my backyard and beautiful mountains always in view.

In June of 2003, I walked into AA and I have yet to look back.
I have learned so much about myself and life and God -- stuff I never thought about.
Stuff I didn't care about.....
I have enjoyed my journey thus far. I have learned to deal with life on life's terms. Acceptance is key... Sometimes it's very difficult but then I put my faith in my Higher Power and know He will put me where I need to be. The challenges can be great, always a test. I like getting A's on my tests, so I push forward, one step at a time. I have confidence in ME for the first time in my life. It's pretty nice.
My boyfriend and I have 2 dog babies.. Tara and Nugget - the new addition.
I have an awesome Mom and Big Brother.
My Daddy and my dog Buddy are together watching over me.
I am very lucky and blessed.
Best of all........I am sober.

Well I see u got 5 years and some change as well, to be honest with you I dont know what it might be maybe growing out of it but the desire to drink or use has been lifted. I hope to go with my family up to Laughlin Nv this Labor day. The neighbors haver invite us they own a boat so it would be fun. ne ways check this out 1 month ago I started this new awesome shedule, I only work 3 12 hr shifts and get paid for 40 hrs and 4 days off. Amen to that!  I love my new sober brain!  I feel so much more confident and better able to deal with the things that normal life brings. =)

I am in Jensen Beach.  It's a quaint little town just north of Palm Beach.  Where are you?  I was actually born in Florida and have lived up and down the coast from Key West to Daytona.  I love where we are now been here six years and am getting that old feeling that I am ready to seek new adventure...but I am not going anywhere for a while.

Thank you for the note.  I look forward to hearing back from you.

hiya... welcome to sober living.  It's really a great way to be.  Life throws curve balls and fastballs................it's easier to deal with those without a foggy brain.  What part of Florida are you in??  I have only lived in FL for 4 years... dunno much about the state.  Every 24 hours of sobriety is a blessing.  Second chances are a beautiful thing.  Keep on keepin' on!!  have a good day.

Thanks:) Alcohol and pot were my hand in hand drugs of choice too! My first year I did have a roommate, and i admit right now it can get a bit lonely, but I know it won't last, so I am cool with it. I Like the pic of you and the ocean. Very cool:) Second chances ARE awesome:)
God Bless

Hi there...  thanks for the friends request.  I took a little break but I missed the site so I have returned.  How are you doing??  I like your page.  good pics.  I read in your "about me" that you live with no humans at the moment... I did that my first year of sobriety -- just me and my dog Buddy.  I had ALOT of me time.  I learned about me.  I learned to like myself without alcohol or pot.  I was in school and working.  I loved that year of my life.  It was a great way to start sober living.  learn about me first.  Every year since then has been really cool.  I learned how to deal with ups and downs.  AA helped me as well, still does.  Second chances are awesome.  Have a great day.
