Entry #28

Still working Step 5. My sponsor and I agreed on a few dates but those didn't work out. The first meeting I asked to go to a meeting instead because I was so sick I couldn't talk - reading my step would have been extremely difficult. Our next date was this past Tuesday, but the snowstorm canceled that.

I've made a connection with an older man in AA. It's the first relationship I've established - men still really scare me, but this is positive. I checked in with him today because I headed back to MA earlier and wouldn't be attending the meeting tonight. We spoke for 30 mins.

I have a few numbers of people. Went to a new meeting Sunday night. Plan to go to a new meeting tomorrow. I wish I could go to a Friday night meeting, but early wake up on Saturday means I go to bed at the time the meetings start. Hoping to hit a noon meeting. The weather has been so weird lately - nice, then we got hit with snowstorms and slush. I'm hoping for a break in bad weather to head out.

Things are going okay. Been really rough lately, but I haven't picked up. The thoughts crossed my mind and I reached out to my sponsor. I told her the details, but only shared vague details at the meeting. It's personal, and related to trauma. I am feeling better.

I want to finish Step 5 soon.

I have 16 months on March 1. The last few weeks have been hard work and so worth it.

Congrats on 16 months! Hey, there are some men and women you can trust and you'll find both. Tell us about the experience once your 5th is done!

You may not see it, but others do. In your writing. Tis good. Always remember these things you are doing. The things that got you clean, sober and sane will keep you that way...

Hugs,

Dennis

I like your last sentence - "been hard work and so worth it". Hope that you keep on keeping on.
