Blue Monday
Posted On 01/18/2010 16:13:58 by Cara

'Oh, they call it Blue Monday'.....thats today, statistically the most depressing day of the year.  Christmas is long over but you are still in debt because January's pay day is still to come and you have had to go longer for that because you got paid early before Christmas.  The weather is dark and dismal, although the days are getting longer it hasn't become that noticable yet.  You have already broken your New Year resolutions and on top of that it's Monday morning.

Obviously this only applies to those of us in the northern hemisphere so apologies to those in the antipodes who are having barbies on the beach right now and glowing with energy and enthusiasm.

I was trying to think of some slogans to encourage people with winter blues.

'One day at a time' - thats about all we have the energy for

'This too will pass' - give it a couple of months

My favourite - 'Nothing is going to happen today that you and God can't handle'

If you can think of any more post them here, how do you deal with the blues?

Not really a catchy saying, but I try to work on an "attitude of gratitude" (oh, actually that did rhyme, so perhaps that qualifies).

Get outdoors and walk, share and find reasons for gratitude and laughter. Indoor golf helps! But......I do not like northern winters. Want a lottery or my wife to get old enough to retire. Then, look out South Africa!!

Even worse, by the wat, 18th was a work day up here!

luv

Cara -

I find someone to work with, hit this site, pray and mentally list out the things I should be grateful for. All these things pull me out of a funk.

"It ain't nothing worth drinking over..."

Hugs,

Dennis
