Rambling about Good Reminders
Posted On 10/27/2009 08:54:04 by Nia

Spiritual Literacy... Frederic &Mary Brussat. C. 1996.  A book I happened upon

in one of my favorite used book stores, the other day.

I have been looking for a daily meditation book, since my current budget

does not allow me to run out and buy the one I just returned to the library

(...NOT complaining-just stating. When I get my gift certificate at

Christmas, then I will purchase a clean, used copy-) deferral and anticipation

is a good thing-

Any how the point being: I was provided for- and wonderfully so ! (5$)

I admit I sometimes have a small resentment toward all these folks who

encourage 'mindful meditation' over and over-while sitting-

In this book I came across a prayer from a peasant

who asked God of his understanding, to appear and

speak, direct him-via the earth he ploughs, the water & food he

consumes-from his family- (ergo: the familiar)

That would be my prayer too-I do my best meditating in the garden, or

building that stone wall-etc.

This  book explores the myriad ways we can seek sacred- spiritual

experiences in our lives- And That is more in tune with where I am at this

time- So H.P. has once again gone ahead of me and paved the way

before I even knew what I wanted, needed.        Blessings, Nia

.

Meditation can happen for me any time I make concious contact with my HP. My HP is always there. I do love stillness and nature! What med. book you looking for little girl?

The energy and time I used to employ on distressing and tormenting myself, I have now learned to apply for meditation.

I do (at times) sit quietly and listen - but most often it is when I'm alone and working, be it turning wood, pushing keys on the laptop, reading or suchlike. The solitude seems to be the key for me. When I can limit the demands on my attention...

Back athcha,
