Focus On Life Balance?
Each and every week my coaching coach, Dr. Randin Brons, publishes an "Idea Engineer" to provoke thought and act as a reminder as to what it is people need to work on to get the life they want and have the potential to achieve.
This week’s article was a very good one; it addresses a key issue that was missing in my life....BALANCE.
This weeks quotes are brilliant and do require a bit of thought as to what they are telling us. Godden's quote refers to an area I love, native spirituality. I can relate to this visual today, and looking back to pre-life recovery is a real reminder of how true it is.
What's your best routine?
"For all my good intentions, there are days when things go wrong or I fall into old habits. When things are not going well, when I'm grumpy or mad, I'll realize that I've not been paying attention to my soul and I've not been following my best routine." -- Robert Fulghum
How do you need to bring more balance to your life?
Robert Fulghum has shared, "The older I get, the more I realize the importance of exercising the various dimensions of my body, soul, mind and heart. Taken together, these aspects give me a sense of wholeness. I want to be a whole human being rather than one who limps on one leg because I don't know how to use all of my parts. Intellectual, emotional, and physical activity are not separate entities. Rather, they are dimensions of the same human being."
One of the things I try to do daily is to make sure I follow the basics of a checklist I need to do to ensure balance. I use it with EVERY client I have, no matter the aspect of life improvement that we are working on. It is essential to living the life you want. I offer a written daily balance checklist to anyone who contacts me at khbray@hopeserenity.ca and requests it.
Look at this final quote. Do you visit each of the rooms of your life on a daily basis? If not, you are likely living with the consequences! I try to live and coach balance as a part of the process of life recovery.
"There is an Indian Belief that everyone is in a house of four rooms: A physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room everyday, even if only to keep it aired, we are not complete." -- Rumer Godden
