Posted On 12/01/2006 07:47:42 by jpitfield

I have a friend who has multiple addictions

she has asked about comming to meetings with me but when the time comes she makes an excuse and stays at home.

can i do anything ....other than  give her support and wait till she is ready ?

I really want to help but can not think of anything else I can do. I will ask my sponsor tonight.

Any ideas ????

ATTRACTION rather than PROMOTION     Pray, and let God worry            ONE DAY, it will be time for my friend as well

by staying sober my life gets better and I can be there for Jude as well.

Thanks    to Tina and KatieB

Couldn't have said it any better than KatieB.  I hated those who tried to get me to go to AA.  I knew I should, I knew I was an alcoholic, but HELL, I wasn't going to any meeting.  You do hit BOTTOM, and when you do, it's time.  My family had to stand by and watch, imagine the horror and pain. But, with God's Plan, I'm here and 1 1/2 years sober and I plan to never go back to that world.

ONE DAY, it will be time for your friend as well.

I am dealing with the same problem right now. One of my friends is out on a drug binge and is so completely miserable. Yet there is no way in hell she'd come to a meeting with me. You must remember though, our program is ATTRACTION rather than PROMOTION. So all you can do is continue to work your program and keep her in your prayers. She'll see how good your doing and hopefully she eventually want what you have and will be willing to go to any length to get it.

Pray, and let God worry. :)
