Today
Posted On 01/17/2009 17:14:43 by TamG

Today i am sober. Today I am motivated. Today I am free to be myself.

Recovery has been an interesting experience so far. I am learning to really look at myself. No rose-colored glasses to be seen.

I have hope for change and am starting to see a glimmer of those changes. I know there are good things on the horizon and the bad things that may come cannot take them away.

Today I am hopeful.

It is liberating when we no longer feel like we have to hide who we are from others, or ourselves... Amazing, isn't it?

You go girl!

Tam -
Hopeful is good. The alternative (which most of us have already a t-shirt or three commemorating) is not worth going back to. Just remember to treat the "bad" as something that will eventually pass and you'll have it on an even par with the good. For it will eventually pass also. It's dwelling on the bad things (even little bad things) that can ruin the good. Live in the moment. Now, not tomorrow or yesterday.
Hugs,
Dennis

It is freedom.  But it is so hard to relate that it is freedom.  People just do not understand.  There is so many people that are in bondage and do not realize it.
