Isolation again
Posted On 01/14/2009 23:10:40 by txcupcake33

The spiritual journey, the path of recovery and personal growth, is a detoxification process in which we bring up and out the negative beliefs we have carried with us from the past and that now poison the present.

    - Marianne Williamson

I read this today and the first thought that entered my mind was stinking thinking. Some days I isolate myself for no reason. As I have been doing the past few days. Why do we do this? I enjoy my life in recovery. The support I receive gives me strength and courage each day. For some reason I feel I lack something. Is it wrong to want something just for yourself? Something that is your and yours alone. I feel lost but hopeful I will find my way if I take it one day at a time.

Thanks for keeping me clean & sober another day.

Strange thing about addictions, they all have that tendency to create a space of isolationism.

See, our addictions can only lead to hiding and hording. Our world is self-imposed loneliness.
But our freedom comes when we say enough is enough and reach out for help. Once those doors are open, it is hard to go back into our old lifestyle again. We have seen the new choices and they chase and dog our every step.

May you find the freedom in recovery from the isolation as you grow in recovery and let more friends into your circle.

I'm so glad that I am not alone. How do you get past the isolation?

God Bless you. I appreciate your support.

I too am a chronic isolater......don't know why I keep doing it to myself!

Just hang onto your HOPE and as you say, take it one day at a time...
