Battered, Bruised, and Broken?
Posted On 09/07/2008 15:15:09 by lostsoul73
We have all been here, battered, bruised, and broken. It is so hard to recover sometimes. It takes a lot of determination, faith, and hope to overcome our obstacles.  Sometimes even more just to be able to hang on when we just feel like giving up.  I have been here many times in my life.

A friend reminded me this morning that I would see things more clearly after I became sober. That things would not be as I thought they were, and they were right.  I see things much more clearly and realize that there is a lot more work ahead of me, to set things right again.

So I am posting this to all those out there who are in the same boat that I am in right now and to just show you that God (higher power) is there in everything we go through.....The good, the bad, when we can walk, when we need to be carried. No matter how alone we feel, He is there. Take comfort in knowing that today.

God may be invisible, but He's in touch.
You may not be able to see Him, but He is in control.
And that includes what you've just lost.
That includes what you've just gained.
That includes all of life, past, present, and future.

BATTERED, BRUISED, and BROKEN

Paul was battered, bruised and broken
Yet he kept up-lifting the Name.
Often in and out of prison
He held on to Jesus, ever the same.

They banded, conspired, gloated in shame,
Taunting, trying, testing the saint.
Like flint, his forehead he kept,
despite the frame and flame.
Giving glory and honour without a faint.

See beyond your trial, redeemed-of the-Lord.
Delay is not denial; your pay- day will come
Hold on to the Word. Hold on to the sword.
His will, will be done and His kingdom will come.

Do you not  know, for you,  Jesus prays?
And His prayers the Father always hears
Take courage, be bold, come what come may.
Cast to the wind all of your fears.

I'M SURE MY HIGHER POWER HAS CARRIED ME THROUGH ALOT, AND I PROBABLY DIDN'T KNOW I WAS BEING CARRIED. IT'S LIKE TURNING OUR WILL OVER TO HIM ON A DAILY BASIS, AT LEAST FOR THIS ADDICT ANYWAYS! HE CONTINUES TO GET ME THROUGH ALL MY TRAILS AND TRIBULATIONS, AND GIVES ME THE STRENGTH I NEED TO GET THROUGH ANOTHER DAY CELAN AND SOBER! ALL THE GLORY GOES TO HIM BECAUSE WITHOUT HIM I AM NOTHING! THANKS FOR THE POST, AND TAKE CARE!
