The Three Stages of Love

In the process of loving there are three important
stages or moments:

1. kindness
a warm assurance that "I am on your side. I
    care about you.

2. Encouragement:
a strong reassurance of your own strength and
    self-sufficiency.

3. Challenge:
a loving but firm exhortation to action.

What I would so much like to have above all else, is a truly loving heart. The more I read, hear and study about the nature of LOVE, the more I see how short I fall of my ideal.

Maybe when I love myself more fully, I will find myself more able to see the positive in me, as opposed to the negative. I often feel like nobody cares about me or likes me but the truth of the matter is that, I probably don't really care for myself or really like myself. If I really cared about myself, I would stop smoking. If I liked myself then it wouldn't really matter to me what anyone else thought.

All I can do is keep fumbling. I know which direction I want to go.

Thank you for keeping me clean and sober today

Peace to you all

I am so glad I got to read this! Recently I've been having to reevaluate my perception of love and how important it is to love and accept ourselves. It was hard enough to come to terms that I fall short of my own values, that I have come to discover that I can't give what I don't have.

Awesome post. Thank you so much for sharing!

You are capable of great love, for self and others. It is half full. Get out of your own way, let your HP guide, and live!

Thanks for sharing this. I think this is a very difficult area for many. I struggle with those same thoughts every day myself.

We walk, we stumble, and everytime we do we get closer to where we need to be.

God Bless.
