Faith overcomes fear
Posted On 08/28/2008 21:23:24 by SmurfDog1982

Hello family,
I am an addict named Ollie and I've been clean since Oct 15, 1982. I'm going to be home for 4-5 weeks following my recieving a new kidney (8/20/08) from a friend from the rooms with 23 yrs of his own recovery. I have been positive and full of faith as this process began many months ago. I have walked with my sponsor throughout this experience. Just because I have almost 26 yrs clean, doesn't mean I can handle everything by myself. I know my higher power has never put anything in my path that I could not handle. As I was on dialysis for 3 months (3x/week) I had faith that my friend would be medically cleared to donate me his kidney. There were some times we were not sure. Talk about turning it over. I thank God for bringing me through this experience and I will now carry a message of a deeper hope and faith to the newcomer who has very fragile recovery. Keep coming back -- It works !!! Love , your friend in recovery  Ollie
