Halfway house help
Posted On 07/17/2008 10:08:53 by princessmean1

My boyfriend is thinking about going into a halfway house after getting out of rehab in August.  Can anyone recommend any places in the state of Florida? He would like to be a few hours from home; he lives in near Daytona Beach, Florida. He doesn’t have any access to a computer right now, and he asked me for help with this, now I’m asking for help from you guys!  Thanks for any suggestions!! Also what are the pros and cons of a halfway house?

thanks, I'd really like to hear the good and bad, but then if I tell my b/f he can take it as me trying to sabotage his recovery process. He has been so strong about coming home and doing well and now with one month left he is questioning himself.  IMHO I see going into a sober living place as not a good thing because he will have to get a job, find another sponser and etc... then when he does come back home will have to do all that over again.  Leah

Try googling  "daytona beach sober living" and see what is available there. I have only heard secondhand stories (both good and not-so-good) regarding sober living homes, so mayhaps someone else can help there. You may also try an AA and NA member regarding reputations of sober living in that area.

Take care,
Dennis

I sent you some emails. Let me know if you got them and if this helps.
