Do It Because You Like The EFFECT??

I get some great stuff from friends who are in recovery from one thing or another, or just recovering from people and the past. The Following hit me right between the eyes. Can you relate?

"Men and women drink (drug, overeat, cut, use sex, gamble, blackberry, and many more) essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. To them, their addictive life seems the only normal one. They are restless, irritable and discontented, unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks - drinks which they see others taking with impunity. After they have succumbed to the desire again, as so many do, and the phenomenon of craving develops, they pass through the well-known stages of a spree, emerging remorseful, with a firm resolution not to drink again. This is repeated over and over, and unless this person can experience an entire psychic change there is very little hope of his recovery."

Three are so many out there feeling restless, irritable and discontent? Are you one, or do you know someone who fits the bill?

A spiritual awakening and psychic change is available to those who seek!

Yes, I can relate & I struggle with this sometimes, and I know a person who is  really struggling alot right now with all of it. I also know they're alot more people out there struggling who do not believe a psychic change can happen for them.  They can't get through step 1, 2, & 3. I'm here to say it CAN happen for everyone if they want it.
I know for me God has removed the obsession to drink & use, but I struggle with food addiction.  I have been praying for God to remove the obsession with this just like I did with the alcohol & drugs.  It's working, but it's one day at a time.  Anyway thanks for sharing on this Keith!

Sometimes I'm one of them! Then I make re-adjustments using the tools I have been so freely given and everything changes...
