Another Awakening-Profound
Posted On 05/08/2008 12:06:51 by KeithB

Here it is, just past mid-day Thursday- my Mental Health Day. Normally I’m up and get things done early before doing what it is I do for me on Thursdays. Not today.

Grand children are such wonderful creatures. As a grand parent you can love them like crazy, listen and be with them, but leave them to go home. Unfortunately the young ones get bugs, and our little grand daughter shared hers freely, first to Gram and today, I share her bug! I am tired, have had the chills, have kept my appointments, but will now look after me.

Over the past few days, and particularly reflecting on some of the thoughts experienced in A New Earth, I have had something profound occur in me.

I chose Life Coaching because my gut told me that’s where I can make a difference and properly utilize the talents I have been given. I initially wanted to work in the field of coaching people impacted by addictions. And that remains with me; I have the experience to do that and am uniquely qualified.

I have known for years I have experienced an awakening that has set me on a journey to recover the ability to live comfortable in who I am. I have been concerned about many “global” happenings, and maybe age coupled with the gift of grand children has brought me there. Age does bring wisdom, and I am not proud of the negative impact we baby boomers had on this planet.

Through both the professional coach training I’ve been taking, dialoguing with others in the coaching and counseling field, and the reading and reflective study of A New Earth and other spiritual writings, I have become acutely aware that the world must awaken, that a strong spiritual platform is needed to awaken, that too many don’t understand spirituality, they get it confused with religion, and that a sound spiritual program allows lives to TRANSFORM. Not just recover from addictions, but to TRANSFORM to a new space and place, a happier and more content place. To a place that was only a dream.

I still believe that the change results in hope (optimism, positive attitude, etc.) and serenity (peace within, harmony, etc.).

I am not one to get into acronyms and Laws of this and that. I don’t practice transferring energy to others remotely. I do believe all of these things may work, and in fact may be a part of the simple truths I do live, feel, practice, teach and COACH. I do believe in the natural goodness that is present in all people, and can be found if sought. Look at the dynamic results coaches have had in sports, business and the arts. Why not in living?

I believe the world must awaken, and this will not be a fast process. I know from a power deep inside me that I can make a positive difference in the awakening, but one person at a time. I can help transform lives, including the lives affected by addiction. But transformation can only come through willingness.

Upon reflection, this is a profound change for me, and I am grateful that the god I understand allowed this change to happen!

It was a good mental health day. The voices of my coaches helped me to realize what a profound change has occurred, and to modify direction and set new goals that are achievable.

I look forward to working professionally with others, look for referrals and look forward, a person at a time to seeing others awaken to their life’s purpose.
