This disease sucks!!!
Posted On 12/31/2007 16:37:56 by GT

So, i wrote about the possibility of my 14 years old seeing his dad  after 4 years. Well, it didin;t happen. This disease took him back. It's a relief and a frustration. Relief because we have been doing ok without the choas he brings. Frustrated because I am doing it and why can't he?

The kid will be ok0that's the good part. We will make it through despite the disease. To the alcoholic that still suffers-sending prayers.

I am so sorry things didn't work out, and I'll be sending some prayers his way. Concentrate on yourself and your son, and don't give up in the meantime. Have a great 2008!!

I am sorry it didn't work out. Take consolation in the fact that you are there for your son. He has you to steady him.

I have had several friends and others that I have met around the training tables go out. I ask why? Why them and not me? The answer always comes back - they're not ready yet. I too pray for the alcoholic who still suffers, both in and out of these rooms.

I stopped wondering about my ex's behavior a long time ago. It was futile and stole my energies on what was important, the kids. I feel for your son as it is a disappointment (and I am glad he will be okay) but it can be a lesson, albeit a tough one.

Your love and example can shine as a beacon and let him know in time when he is a man, he will understand better. Sorry for your frustrating experience and I will pray for the alcoholic, may he seek peace and understanding.
