step 1

i think the key word is to "admit" who of us cares to admit anything. the steps teach me a new way to live. actions to practice in all areas of my life. the first step teaches me to practice admitting my part, my wrongs, and see what is my part. the first step makes life simple. goes right along with the serenty prayer. the serenty to accept things the way they are not as i would have them. and challanges me to see the truth, the things i can change. Me.  not you or the gods. so when someone says "you this and you that". admit my  part and walk on. i have no power over others, institutions. the gods or myself if i pick up a drink or drug. not any of my business if it is yours, or the gods. all i need to do is admit it. the short version. "F**k it"

Living life on life's terms. No sense getting my shorts in a bunch over crap that I can't do anything about....

thanks ben.  a good concept.  you loose me somewhat with the language.  which surprises me.  since i quit drinking and smoking i joke that i can still swear like a trucker.  i guess that's changing too.  great.  miss goody two shoes.  oh well.

dude, and for me to admit something today is huge!  that's so much more than a f*ck it!  and to be able to walk away?  now that is growth!

admit is a big key to recovery.  and accountable.  the serenity prayer is such a devine tool!!!  it's so simple, i sometimes forget to use.  thanks for that perspective.  :)

smile!  you got me thinking today.

This is a great post! "serenity to accept things the way they are not as i would have them" is a very valuable truth that we all need to be reminded of. Thank you...
