No matter what

The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen
Now that I'm clean
You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean

I don't understand
What destiny's planned
I'm starting to grasp
What is in my own hands
I don't claim to know
Where my holiness goes

Coming down the mountain

I am especially thinking of a mother of 5, chemically dependent, who came into our facility just 30 days ago, broken, unable to stop crying, not talking in group for weeks, just an empty stare ahead that seemed to never change. She graduated last Tuesday, a transformed woman-... Read More

Who's standing at my door?

Stride forward
with a firm, steady step
knowing with
a deep certain
inner knowing
that you will reach
every goal you set yourselves,
that you will achieve
every aim.

I have been blessed with a new day. A new step on this recovery journey called life. The winter is well and truly here; it is cold, wet grey, and I have seen the first snow falling, through the window, sitting in today's NA meeting this noon.

I decided to wait with my writing today, to see i... Read More
