"SHUT THE F**K UP!!!! ...and just grieve with me....."
Posted On 12/30/2008 12:27:42 by prodigalreturned
Wow!  That title sounds like something George Carlin would say as I'm listening to his book on tape (Napalm, Silly Putty...) I've NEVER said that phrase to anyone, though I've thought it and I've said "the same" in other words, acting out during destructive times in my life. And, I've also never written that statement, oh yeah, except that one time on that recovery space, at this time.....       But, and here's the kicker---I've h... Read More

Recovery: Changed Lives...Changing Lives
Posted On 12/29/2008 12:23:38 by prodigalreturned
Is it two steps forward and one back, or one forward and two back? I think the answer is "Yes!" -- at least it is for me. I like that part in the 12 Promises we read each week about our Higher Power doing for us what we cannot do for our ourselves....that's grace. The words "soul-searching" have been surfacing for me lately, and that can mean a lot of things. I'm thankful I'm not drinking our using so that when areas of need begin to surface I do not stuff them down again, or... Read More

Resentments. Got Any?

Resentments. Got Any? With the emotions that go along with Christmas, the topic of resentments is a good one. This year, because of being mentally ready for the holidays and having a g... Read More

The Day Is Over

THE DAY IS OVER   The spirit lives on. As I said to someone earlier, I went into today with no expectations about gifts, and with a prayer to just be there. I am blessed that we had a household of people through today, and not one bit of animosity, no alcohol or drugs, and funny enough, a lot of warm emotions exchanged. I was blessed to hear from so many over the holidays, sad to see some not enjoying, but thrilled all that I know well remained “healthy” for Christmas. I know a... Read More

Walking Miracles
Posted On 12/21/2008 01:00:16 by Isiah491421
No matter how long we abused mind-
altering drugs, no matter how desperately
we led our lives, we should never think
that our opportunity has passed. God's
grace is without limit. We can make our
choice at any time and finally come to
realize that TODAY is always acceptable
to our Lord.

We must never feel that it is too late
or that we have failed too often to be
acceptable to God. He loves us and He
is loving us NOW, TODAY, ALWAYS.
All things are possible... Read More
