My brother in law Howard can speak the Chippewa language and with my sister, adopted Clarence, a Chippewa boy many years ago and now enjoys his children. I have learned much from him over the years about Native American ways. Though I actually feel I know little, the Spirit has touched me. Today has been a trying day. I started writing things out about my life today. I have been putting this off for a long time. The more depressed I get the worse it is. My rollerblading dog, Nikki (le femme Nikita) knows our rollerblading routine by now, but with her thick fur and the summer sun, she overheats and has to be carried towards the latter part of the run. She knows she's going to be carried, so she runs her heart out right up to the time I pick her up, just at the top of the hill, the most difficult part.
