My Sponsor has 34 years of sobriety and often says, "I go to A.A. to keep from drinking, but I go to Alanon to help me learn how to live." It's amazing how many other alcoholics, even recovering ones, I work with and interact with throughout my week. I was encouraged by one of my morning reflections when it talked about our Higher Power giving us only the grace we need for this day, to help us be in the moment, not worry about tomorrow-- which is promised to no one--and trust that grace given for this day IS sufficient.....I like that...It helps me when I worry that I may not be able to make it tomorrow, or be overwhelmed with my near future, not knowing where it is going.....but trusting that each day's cares are enough for that...
