Lessons learned while walking home
Posted On 01/03/2009 18:06:12 by Endurancefan
I just came back from the grocery store; it's my turn to prepare tomorrow's family dinner.  While I was walking home, there were ten pigeons cooing on top of a light pole and multitudes of people buzzing around in there own little bubbles of transportation both on the ground and in the air.  While strolling along, I was reading an article about the addictive system when I came to the following paragraph, "Generally speaking, there is a lack of true intimacy in the life of an add... STEP 1/Twelve Steps Each year I like to run through the 12 steps as written in the book Alcoholics Anonymous. SLIP SLIDING AWAY There was a great old song by the name Slip Sliding Away. I really don’t know why this ran through my head, maybe because of some of the day’s issues. I am in a 12 Step program, have working relationships with a couple of rehab centers, am a partner in coaching with a recovered alcoholic/ addict, prolific young writer who works at a treatment facility and I work with “others” on a daily basis-both in person and on line. Over 95% of people who start on an addictio... Read More

Accepting Change

Accepting Change

Change is a word we hear oh so often. Whether we like it or not, things are going to change; we can influence how they change, and whether the change has positive direction for our life. There is much that directly affects our own well being that is within our control. When the journey to a new life began for me, my life required change in dramatic fashion. It was going the wrong way at an accelerated pace. To say I was “sick and tired of... Read More
