Rock n roll Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, Kansas, ZZTop (drummer good friend of mine), Trapeze, Mettalica, Iron Maiden, PINK FLOYD, REO Speedwagon, Doobie Brothers, Stevie Wonder. I like good jazz and good country music you can slow dance to.

Action and sci-fi movies.

Greatest Miracle in the World (Og Mandino), Road Less Traveled (Scott Peck), See You at the Top (Zig Ziglar), Language of Feelings (David Viscott), The Day Lincoln was shot, The NA Basic Text, and AA Big Book.

Landscaping my yard, beading, canvas painting, gold panning and sluicing, collecting coffee mugs from recovery conventions (mostly NA) and writing and hopefully publishing something soon.

I was introduced to recovery in Houston, Texas in late 1977 when I was 21 yrs old. I found recovery thru PDAP (Palmer Drug Abuse Program) and at 18 months clean, I became a young counselor who worked with teens. I have public speaking background and love sports. I had a brief relapse in 81 due to my return to an offshore tugboat job and my severe reduction in meeting attendance. I understand reservations that lead to relapse. I have an outgoing personality and don't have enemies that I know of. I love the underdog.

Sports: baseball (first love since age 6), golf (low 80's), frisbee, ultimate, watching football, hiking, and ping-pong. I like old school rock and early metal music. I like cheering for the underdog and I also like watching a struggling addict get clean and find out that recovery really is cool.

I have no compassion for sexual predators of teens and children. I can't stand how CEO's are rewarded with outrageous bonuses when their company lost money during previous fiscal year. High gas prices and dependence on foreign oil.

Hi not sure who page I was in and saw the smurf cartoon, i remember as a child during off track in school I would watch the smurfs, luv it. I been sober for alittle over 2 yrs and I currently work in a alcohol and drugs treatment center which I went to school and received my alcohol and drugs studies certificate. I hope in the years to come I can practice what I love to do in this field. I see your a sports fan hope we enjoy the same interest when it comes to footbal hehe.

You still disgruntled?? Just playin!!! Thanks for your support. How did u make the serenity prayers graphics...I'm kinda old school regarding computers. Nice to have place to chat with folks in recovery while I rehab from kidney transplant 8/20/08. Can't make it to my home NA group until cleared by doctor. Wish we would have had computers and this web sight when I first came into rooms of recovery in 1977 when i was 21. Keep in touch ...Ollie

Heheh... Actually my ID is an unlikely 'super-hero' pet name that stemmed from a really bad inside joke. However, I find it fitting for certain aspects of my life that I am not happy with and working toward changing.

And thank you-- but I did not make the image. While I do dabble with graphics editors, I rather have the graphic talent of a caveman. :P

Nice to have you here! And nice to know I'm not the only old-skool geek around here.

Yeah - they probably don't want you bouncing around too much for a while, so be kind to yourself for a bit.
Nope, there wasn't a WWW back then. Old 2nd generation computers and arpanet was all there was. I got into them back in'68-9, been playing with them ever since. The web does give one a somewhat broader look at  the worlds insanity - along with the really good things, like here...
Take care,
Dennis
