On Feb. 23, 2008, we upgraded the myRECOVERYspace site with more features. The main new features are:

  • Videos (from VIDEOS on the top menu) - the ability to link to videos from YouTube, Google, mySpace, Break, iFilm and direct streams
  • Tags - the ability to tag your blogs with topics of your choosing. If you want to tag old blogs, you have to go back and edit them yourself with appropriate tags. By default, we have just used the mood from old blogs for the tags.
  • Bookmarks - you can click on the social bookmark icons and add blog entries, etc. to your bookmarks for digg, del.icio.us, and so forth.

With new freedom, as always, comes new responsibility. In particular, videos can be a powerful aid to recovery when used well. We sincerely ask that you use them for purposes of recovery, and be sensitive to others on this site that may have triggers for things that lean toward pornography, violence or bad taste in general (having good taste is a subjective criteria, no doubt, but we urge you to err on the side of being cautious when there is something questionable).

Also, we have tried our best to transfer everything over, but if you think that something was lost or got broken in the process, then please contact the administrator and we will do our best to fix any problem. Also, if you see any ads from GoogleSense that are inappropriate, please let the administrator know and, if possible, the URL from the inappropriate ad. We are trying to work with Google to block these ads, but need to have specific URLs to effectively block them.

We will continue to work on adding other features to the site in the days and months to come, such as a music section and the ability to more easily have cyber meetings. Thanks for your patience in this process.

Finally, thanks to everyone for being part of this awesome recovery community. You have made it a wonderful place to find guidance and healing from the pain of addictions. May we all find an ever deeper commitment to true sobriety and the serenity that comes from that.
