Hi and welcome to this awesome site! Its full of amazing, supportive people and I hope you get as much out of it as I do!
I'm not an alcoholic so I can't offer any personal experiences. However, I have several friends who are all in some kind of therapy, A.A. or both and but didn't have to be in rehab.
Welcome and I hope you find the care and treatment you need. AA is good, that's why I'm sober today along with my HP. Let me know if you need anything, Tina
Welcome Newcomer, Sounds like your connected to interventions- trust that your right where you should be for now and let it all unfold. Be teachable, which means take directions, hard for us alcoholics, from therapists & people who you know love you and pray that it is the beginning of the end of your drinking stories. I didn't attend Rehab so I can't share on that nor did I use detox but I did attend weekly therapy while I stopped using alcohol to take away my feelings. Good Luck and have a sober 24 hours, Kariemac
Howdy and welcome. There's pros and con's for rehab. What can be a danger is detox. Some go in for detoxification only. If you are seriously dependent on alcohol, it may be worth it - DT's can kill you... As far as becoming sober - anything that doesn't kill you may just make you stronger... Take care, Dennis
Hi, Iam new to this site. Is there anyway to become sober without attending rehab! I am seeing a therapist - alcohol-drug dependency and family counselor. Please write and let me know!
