Serenity Seekers, Finding Comfort, Just Like Meetings, Injury Free

My recovery is a life long battle. I know what to do and must stay on that path to keep clean. I have been clean for some time with the ocassional slip here and there. I'm going thru some pretty ugly times in my life and I know that I must do everything I can to stay away from anything that I feel would bring me comfort...because along with that comfort comes the consequences I don't want to live with. I used from a very early age.I was 11 when I began to use drugs and alcohol to deal with my issues. Once I began to realise that my self medication was leading to a lifestyle I did not want I found it nearly impossible to quit until I got involved with the 12 step programs and with the help of a very wonderful but firm sponsor I was able to find what I needed in the rooms and made great changes in my life. As I go thru troubled times I know it would be easy to slip into my old ways again so I keep working at this so I do not forget why I went to the rooms to begin with.

My kids,Being LDS, Art, poetry, reading, gardening, and thousands of other things. Keeping busy helps!

people who think they know better, they never do because they haven't been there.

Hi there Ruby,

I saw in the forum you posted about emdr and ptsd.  I've never had emdr, but I do have ptsd and trauma isssues.  I'm currently doing trauma work with my therapist.  I just wanted to say hi.  It's nice to know there are other people here with trauma issues.

Have a great week,

Rebel

Doing well most the time; I have a great job.  My oldest daughter started teaching science in China this past week; we miss her.  My two youngest are back from their missions and are going to school.  We had Stake Conference today; it was great.  How are you doing?
