I love all kinds of music from The Who, Shakira, classical and opera. I was lucky growing up in a house where music was very much enjoyed and I grew up with a wide taste.

I'm 43 years old and a very grateful recovering alcoholic. I almost lost absolutely everything, but I stopped just in time. I first came to AA in March 2004, but I stayed for only eight weeks. I allowed someone to tell me that I wasn't an alcoholic and it was what I wanted to hear. So, I went back out drinking for eighteen months and that was the most painful time in my whole life.
My sobriety date is 5th February 2006. Every morning I thank my Higher Power for the sober day that I enjoyed the day before and ask that I am granted one more.
I love AA and attend regular meetings. I have one sponsee and a truly wonderful sponsor. I have worked the steps and keep re-working them on a daily basis. I get as involved as I can in meetings and have been Literature secretary at my home group and also answered the local AA helpline in my area.
I have recently started studying again and I am hoping to get a Bachelor of Health Science degree in four years. There is no way that I could have studied while I was still drinking.
I have recently told my parents about my alcoholism and involvement with AA. They have been so wonderfully supportive and it has been terrific to be on the receiving end of their care.
