Hi, My name is Paul and I'm an alcoholic,
I lost everything I had almost 13 years ago, my wife, my kids, my house, my job and my car. I thought maybe my life was a little unmanageable. So I checked myself into a rehab center. I learned what my problem was, my problem was me, and alcohol. I learned that if I wanted a life I would have to change. I learned what I needed was to get a sponsor and work the steps, attend meetings and listen, eventually become a sponsor and work the steps again. It took a while for me to get to the point where I was hire able, about 2 months, then I got a job, not a great one but I was working again. After about a year in sober living I thought it was time I got my own place again, 3 months later I was awarded sole custody of my kids. Brian and Sarah, my beautiful children. For the next 9 years I raised them. It was by far, the best time of my life. Ups and downs and all arounds, it was the best, I forged a relationship with my daughter that is truly special. They are all grown up now and on their own.
