My name's Scott, I got out of a halfway house about 8 months ago and I am struggling a lot.
I was clean for 6 months before my last relapse, in that time I was able to accomplish a lot, I've been taking classes at a community college and will be applying to a Nursing program at a university in February.
I was working as a certified nursing assistant on a transitional care unit, but quit my job when it got in the way of my using.
All of my family is on the east coast and it's hard being far away from them, I have over 30 days clean and sober now, but each day is a battle.
I try to keep a light-hearted view on life, but I have lot's of social anxiety and can get stuck in negative thinking pretty easily. Some days I get a lot done, other days I just try to get by. I'm looking for some support, and outside perspectives.
I moved to Oregon from Boston, Massachusetts, but I was born and raised in Illinois, and will always consider it my home.
My long term goals are to become a registered nurse and join the army, and become content in recovery. Short term goals are getting through the next 5 minutes clean and sober.
