I am married to a wonderful man (although my opinion changes from time to time). I have 3 handsome boys ages 26yrs old,6 years old, and 5 years old.One beatiful grandaughter age 3 years old.I was a chronic relapser since 1995 up until May 14,2000.Thought I would never stay clean ! But I HAD A DISIRE to stay clean. After I'd use I would go and pick up a white key tag(this happened many times).I never gave up ! I was determed to get clean especialy since I had had a taste of recovery for those times I was clean for (18 months relapse,1 year relapse, 6 months, and so on).I kept asking the God of my understanding to remove the desire to use away.After 1,2,3,4,5,6,months it finally dawned on me that I had'nt had a desire to use!I go to meetings on a regular bases,I have God in my life today,I use my sponsor,I have a suport group of women I call on a regular basis,I practice the spiritual principles of NA to the best of my ability,and I do service work. That's what has helped me stay clean and in recovery just 4 today. I finally got it! That staying clean is more than just mere abstanant from drugs but RECOVERY is a change in thinking and behavior that happens as a result of working the 12 Steps and principles of Narcotics Anonymous! That's what has worked for me!
