The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peele.
Of course.. The Big Book.

Midwest Miracles

Hi..I'm a recovery alcoholic and addict loving this new life of sobriety. Over 3 1/2 years ago..I finally hit bottom.. I lost everything.. my home, my job, and my ex won custody of my kids. I now have joint custody of my kids.. my 16yr old living with me, my daughter off into college and have a 12 and 8 year old boys. I have my life back.. stronger than ever.. landed an awesome job making more money than I ever have.. my own place.. just bought a newer car.. and have a wonderful significant other who I love dearly. I'm able to make my own choices.. good and wholesome ones.. I'm independent, secure and stable for the first time in my life. The first day I came into the program.. a woman.. (who ended up being a 2nd mom to me) said.. "you stick with this program long enough.. you'll see miracles start to happen".. She was so right.. She passed on about 2 years ago.. The wisdom we obtain from all the special people in our program.. is a gift never to be forgotten. I've been blessed and so grateful for the new life that I have chosen. In making the right choices.. the rewards are endless.

I like camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, enjoying my children, being with loved ones, watching and participating in sports.. football, baseball, soccer, snow skiing etc.. Enjoying the serenity of nature.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." - J.F.K.

Happy Thanksgiving!

may we take time out this morning to have a moment of silence and prayer for those who courageously gave their lives so that we may be able to live ours today. for those who came home and dealt with the aftermath of war. for those who are still abroad and are unable to be with their loved ones on this day. and let us not forget those who lost their lives in their own personal battle with addiction. as we enjoy our holiday today let us keep in mind that some gave all for us to be able to have that previlege. may we keep their families and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

eternally grateful
