Hi, My name is Robin and I'm an alcoholic. I do attend AA once a week, but I'm looking for
additional support. I realized after getting a DUI for the 2nd time in seven years, that I had to make a change in my life. I first had to be
honest with myself and acknowledge that I truly had a problem, and seeked out the support that I needed in my community. I started attending AA meetings right away, and started working the 12 steps. I must admit it really helps when you have that support available, especially with a group of people that understand what you're going
through without judging you. Now that I'm sober, I've been able to concentrate on things that I kept postponing......like going back to
school. After two years of procrastinating I finally started taking college classes this
fall. I haven't been to school in twenty years, and I'm so proud of myself, and my kids are proud of me too. I want to pursue a degree in
Healthcare Administration. I feel as though there is so much that I want to accomplish now, and realize that alcoholism was holding me
back from the destiny that God has planned for me. There's no stopping me now!!!
